Choice of Champions
Helping Build the Expo Junior Show and
IBA Junior Points Program
F&R Trailer Sales would like to congratulate Darcie Rahe, 2007 Junior Points Champion. Darcie received one year’s use of a brand new Featherlite stock trailer, compliments of F&R Trailer Sales. She also was awarded a trophy belt buckle and a set of Andis Clippers sponsored by Andis Clipper Company.
The top ten heifer and steer exhibitors were recognized March 1 at the Interstate Center in Bloomington, in conjunction with the 20th Illinois Beef Expo. Each winner received a set of Andis Clippers.
F&R and the Illinois Beef Association is proud to announce that they will again join together to award junior exhibitors for their hard work in 2008! The owner of the Expo Illinois Grand Champion Steer and this year’s overall points winner from the IBA Junior Points Program will again be awarded a brand new Featherlite aluminum stock trailer to use for the following year.
“Our objective with the IBA Junior program is to encourage our youth to stay in agriculture for the long term growth of the industry and our association. The Junior Points Program brings together nearly 40 sanctioned shows at county fairs and other events throughout the state and creates an IBA points fund that really gives our juniors something to shoot for,” states Cimeron Frost for IBA. “Our agri-business members understand the importance of junior involvement and the F&R Trailer/Featherlite prize really highlights how strongly we all feel about the continued growth of our junior efforts.”
Last year over 1200 young people competed in IBA sanctioned shows, up from 750 at the start of the program. The IBA’s scoring system is designed to give all interested juniors a fair chance.
“F&R Trailer Sales understands the importance of junior involvement in agriculture and is proud to be a part of a program that promotes it. Our Choice of Champions program is designed to reward young people for their interest and achievements in agriculture,” says F&R Trailer Sale’s Darren Wagner.
THIS YEAR’S WINNER WILL RECEIVE A MODEL 8127 FEATHERLITE ALUMINU STOCK TRAILER FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS. THE AWARDS CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE ILLINOIS BEEF EXPO IN FEBRUARY. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT IBA’S CIMERON FROST AT 217-787-4280 OR F&R TRAILER SALES’ DARREN WAGNER AT 217-430-4723.
